IABC holds to a
complementarian view when it comes to roles within the church and ministry. We believe Scripture teaches women and men are equal before the Lord (Genesis 1:27, 1 Peter 3:7), but also believe that scripture gives us distinctive roles as men and women in the home, church, and wider society. (1 Timothy 2:12, 1 Corinthians 14:33-36). Therefore, IABC does not seek to certify biblical counselors who do not uphold this view.
